founded in 1979 as a non-profit cultural organization,

interest in family history and genealogy and raise standards of genealogical
research and compilation by means of educational programs, workshops, and
the publication of genealogical data;
ENCOURAGE
and instruct members in the standards and techniques of genealogical research
procedures and compilation.
SERVE
the community through its publications, workshops and otherwise as a medium
of exchange of genealogical information; and
PROMOTE
the collection, preservation, and utilization of manuscripts, documents,
and other material of genealogical or historical value.
Membership in OBCGS
offers an excellent opportunity to learn while working as an office
or on-line volunteer. Our effects are manned entirely through the
